OUR TOP PRIORITY AS A HOTEL IS THE SAFETY, SECURITY AND HEALTH OF OUR GUESTS, MEMBERS AND TEAM, AT ALL TIMES.

These are measures that will be taken from of the moment the local government allows hotels to open in our area. For the moment, there still is much uncertainty, and the government has announced only partial opening of hotels mid May, rooms may be rented, with no public area access, but conditions and rules may be altered or adjusted depending on the evolution of the pandemic.

To ensure the comfort and 5 star experience of our guests, we will only open our hotel when the government allows hotels to provide all public area services and access to beaches and natural parks in our region and more normal mobility in the Costa Dorada. We are hoping this will be possible mid-end June.

What precautions are taken from the moment of entry to the hotel of any person to help avoid risk of infection and/or spread of the virus?
At this very moment, our already strict policies and procedures with regards to personal hygiene, safety and security are being updated with the direct orders and recommendations of the World Health Organisation as well as the local sanitation authorities.

In this way, already being set up are disinfection points at each entrance and exit of the hotel, plus temperature control points, by both pedestrian and automobile entries, as well as loading bay, staff and delivery entrances.

All areas, front and back of the house, are sanitised and disinfected following a reinforced strict daily schedule, directly controlled by the Hotel Management, and following recommendations from the WHO and local authorities.

As our boutique hotel has few rooms, and we will purposefully control occupancy to offer a more exclusive stay to our guests, and no chance of overcrowding, our public areas are already very spacious to allow for the recommended personal 2 m spacing. In addition, we have re-designed our spaces and furniture layout to allow for the comfortable accommodation of all our guests and ensure their safe personal spacing in both inside and outdoor public spaces.

In addition, new security controls will ensure access to the hotel is strictly only for hotel, spa and restaurant guests and staff.

Valet and bell services may be reduced or discontinued for the moment.

What precautions are taken in the guest rooms to help avoid spread of the virus?
Our amenities already have been upgraded with a special Personal Protection Amenity Kit, including hand sanitiser, disposable gloves and face mask. This will be updated and adapted at the time of opening with any advice from local sanitation authorities and the WHO.

The already strict cleaning policies and procedures of all our room cleaning staff have been updated and reinforced with the direct advice of the WHO and local sanitation authorities.

What precautions are taken in the dining outlets and bars of the hotel?
As our boutique hotel has few rooms, and we will purposefully control occupancy to offer a more exclusive stay to our guests, and no chance of overcrowding, our public areas are already very spacious to allow for the recommended personal spacing. In addition, we have re-designed our spaces and furniture layout to allow for the comfortable accommodation of all our guests and ensure their safe personal spacing in both inside and outdoor public spaces.

Also, new security controls will ensure access to the hotel and restaurants is strictly only for hotel, spa and restaurant guests and staff.

Service style in each of our outlets has been reviewed and updated to help keep safe personal space, with normal buffet service re-designed to avoid contagions, more table service, individual servings and more takeaway, room service and number of reservations per hour carefully controlled.

In addition, we have re-designed our spaces and furniture layout to allow for the comfortable accommodation of all our guests and ensure their safe personal spacing in both inside and outdoor public spaces.

In addition, new security controls will ensure access to the spa & gym is strictly only for hotel, spa & gym guests and staff.

Although we have 4.000 m2 of spa & gym, the number of persons allowed into each area will nonetheless be strictly controlled, in order to ensure the possibility of safe personal spacing.

There is a possibility that the local security measures include closing certain areas such as common showers and changing rooms.

What happens if a Guest, Member or Staff shows symptoms of a contagious infection?
Even the lightest of symptoms is taken very seriously. Our staff`s training is already is being updated on the strict policies and procedures to follow. Staff don NOT make assumptions, if there is a possible case, the General Manager is immediately informed. With utmost respect, discretion and kindness, the person will be asked to please go to our specially set up medical office to see if there is a real risk of the person being ill with any contagious infection. Should this be the case, we accompany the patient to ensure they have access immediately to any medical attention they may need, and the event is noted in our daily Incident Report file. We help in any way we can to ensure the patient’s needs are taken care of should they need to be taken to hospital.

The local authorities are also informed in case of a positive test, in order to ensure immediate crisis management procedures are in place.

What happens with my reservation if there is an official travel ban out of my country or in to Spain?
An official ban in travel from the corresponding governments or the order from local government for hotels to remain closed, or allow only partial services, that coincides with your reservation dates constitute a state of Force Majeure, as does the closing of our national or regional borders. From now and until such date as the local government specifies hotels must remain closed, or there is an official ban in travelling during the dates you have reserved, all reservations will be handled with the utmost flexibility. We understand you may have fears of travelling despite the absence of a Force Majeure, so we can offer alternative dates at no extra cost, so please contact our reservation department reservas@granpalashotel.com in order to find together the best dates available for you.

Will we have to wear personal protective gear during our stay?
There is a possibility that local authorities will make masks, gloves and/or protective gowns compulsory during your stay in any or all services. The hotel will strictly follow any directives from local authorities to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
